Professional Qualifications/Experience
Miss Francis was called to the Bar in 2010.
Prior to her admission as a barrister, Jillian worked as an Associate at Baker & McKenzie, a leading international law firm, practising commercial litigation within the Dispute Resolution Group in its Sydney office.
Jillian served as a judge’s associate to the Hon. Justice R McDougall QC, New South Wales Supreme Court (Equity Division).
She brings a wealth of experience to her practice having spent time working at Deacons (now the Norton Rose Group), the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission in its Law Enforcement Division, the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission and the Queensland Public Interest Law Clearing House.
She formerly served as an Executive Councillor, New South Wales Young Lawyers, having responsibility for the Pro Bono Portfolio, and has chaired various CLE seminars and Women in Law annual events. Currently she is a member of the Medico-Legal Society and the Queensland Bar Association.
In 2002 the Order of Australia Association recognised Jillian’s dedication to the community by awarding her a medal for ‘Community Service and Student Citizenship’. |
